The ceremony took place at the Pabellon Cuba, the organization’s national headquarters, where attendees gathered to celebrate the artist in an atmosphere filled with warmth and affection.

With a career defined by sensitivity and a deep commitment to Cuban culture, the distinguished guitarist and composer has captivated generations in her homeland as well as audiences abroad, noted Yasel Toledo, president of the AHS, on social media.

Toledo highlighted the ongoing artistic dialogue she keeps with the association, as well as her willingness to involve members of the “young vanguard”—the next generation of creators—in various projects. It is this close and generous bond that prompted the presentation of such a significant honor.

“It was wonderful to gather at our national headquarters, the Pabellón Cuba; we send her our embrace and our affection,” Toledo expressed.

The songs and the magic of this performer transcend borders, cementing her status as one of the most beloved figures in Cuban music.

This award recognizes an artist deeply committed to her audience and reaffirms her role as a mentor and a touchstone for new generations of Cuban artists.
