Cuban citizens pursue their return after being stranded in Haiti

Havana, Apr 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban citizens pursue on Saturday their return to their country after being stranded in Haiti due to the unleashed wave of violence ; this is part of an operation coordinated by the Cuban authorities.

Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on X that the second group of Cubans is ready to be transferred by air to the eastern province of Camagüey at the Cap-Haitian “Hugo Chavez” Airport.

The Ministry pointed out to provide further updated information on the development of this return operation until its completion.

On Friday, the first group of 49 people arrived, of the more than 200 Cubans that will come this weekend in several flights of the Sunrise airline from Cap Haitian to the international airports “Ignacio Agramonte” and “Antonio Maceo y Grajales” in Camaguey and Santiago de Cuba provinces.

The first phase of Cuban citizens’transfer was conducted in several buses from the capital Port-au-Prince to Cap Haitian in the north of Haiti in a procedure that, according to Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel, required a careful and continuous analysis of the opportune moment to organize it.
