Chinese, Cuban youths strengthen friendship

Beijing, Apr 28 (Prensa Latina) Young people from China and Cuba met in Beijing on Wednesday to strengthen friendship and reaffirm their role in both countries' causes for the continuous development of socialism.

Cuban student Veronica Cabañas highlighted the confidence of the Revolution in the new generations, the active participation of that segment by taking over several responsibilities in society and the will to defend ideals and principles.

Meanwhile, Li Junhui, secretary of the Beijing Youth Communist League Committee, recalled President Xi Jinping’s recent call to his peers to be protagonists on the international arena in promoting a future of peace and development.

He also expressed willingness to deepen exchanges with the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC) in order to strengthen the fraternal ties cultivated by previous leaders.

Meanwhile, Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira emphasized the importance of meetings like these to strengthen the new generations’ confidence, interaction and constant work.

The event included a tour of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and its museum, as well as making posters alluding to the friendship between the two nations.
