Iranian spokesman disagrees with US on nuclear deal

Tehran, May 5 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed on Wednesday Iran's disagreements with the United States regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear deal.

Some US expressions in Vienna, Austria, where the JCPOA negotiations are taking place, he said, are not acceptable to Tehran.

The statements that Washington insists on continuing its harassment are incorrect assessments, because if so, Iran would have abandoned the talks in the Austrian capital, Khatibzadeh stated.

Press TV informed that Iran emphasized compliance with article 29 of the JCPOA through which all sanctions related to the nuclear deal or those subsequently imposed by the Donald Trump Government would disappear.

According to that source, the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna reiterated the demand that the sanctions Iran wants lifted are all the sanctions -whether during the term of Trump or that of his predecessor Barack Obama- to be lifted.

In any case, Iran demands the eradication of the so-called Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act and the Iranian Sanctions Act, as well as visa regulations and the changes that violate article 29 of the nuclear deal.
