Bolivian Prosecutor’s Office admits complaint against Jeanine Áñez

La Paz, May 12 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday admitted the complaint of Andrónico Rodríguez, president of the Senate, against former President Jeanine Áñez for allegedly extending her functions.

The lawsuit was opened because the de facto president (Jeanine Añez) extended her functions as president of Parliament and also head of State, Sergio Bustillo, La Paz Prosecutor´s Office coordinator, said.

Rodríguez raised the accusation under the criminal figures of sedition, conspiracy, attribution of the rights of the people, resolutions contrary to Constitution and laws, among others.

Bolivian Prosecutor’s Office accepted on March 23 to open investigations into three of four accusations for liability trials against Jeanine Añez, including unconstitutional loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), violation of freedom of expression in the Covid-19 quarantine and violation of the human rights of Bolivians prevented from entering Bolivia from Chile in 2020.
