The publication analyzed the Wednesday´s vote at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) where 184 nations were in favor of Cuba and called for the end of the blockade, and only the United States and Israel were against.

The newspaper cited one of the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez´ statements, as presenting the draft resolution known as Need to Lift the Economic, Commercial and Financial US Blockade against Cuba, already passed for 29 years in a row.

‘Like the coronavirus, the US blockade stifles and kills and must be stopped. Homeland or Death, We Shall Overcome!’, La Jornada repeated the saying that Bruno Rodríguez used to close his speech at UNGA.

The Mexican newspaper recalled that the US blockade, imposed on Havana 59 years ago and tightened several times, failed to overthrow Cuba.
