At 16:00 hours, local time, a funeral procession will start from the artist’s home in Rome, with stops in symbolic places of the Italian Radio and Television (RAI), main site of her more-than-50-year multifaceted artistic career.
At 18:00 hours, local time, the funeral home will be opened with access to the public until midnight in the Sala Protomoteca in Campidoglio, seat of the municipal government, and it will continue on Thursday. The funeral ceremony will be on Friday at the church of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli.
The popular singer, dancer, actress, host and director of television programs, passed away in Rome, two days ago, at age 78 after a long illness.
President Sergio Mattarella described her as ‘a popular artist, loved by different and numerous generations of viewers in Italy and abroad.’
