Cuba with 8,853 Covid-19 cases and 80 deaths

Havana, Jul 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuban health authorities reported on Sunday the detection of 8,853 new cases of SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, and 80 deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest number since the pandemic broke out.

The Caribbean island accumulated 332,968 diagnosed with the virus since March 11, 2020 and 2,351 deaths, reported the head of Epidemiology of the Public Health Ministry, Francisco Durán, in a television conference.

So far, 60,567 people remain hospitalized, both in hospitals and at home, of which 14,864 are suspected; 3,456 are under surveillance and 42,147 with the active virus.

For the detection of the coronavirus, 56,424 samples were studied the day before and a total of 6,208,857 tests have been analyzed on the island.
