Cuba against slander and hatred positions

Havana, July 27 (Prensa Latina) The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, assured today that slander, lies, political pressure from positions of force and hatred are accompanied by discredit.

In a message on his official Twitter account, the president added this to a tweet by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, who affirmed that a recent joint statement against the island, imposed through pressure on several countries, shows the isolation of the United States.

Yesterday, on that platform, the foreign minister emphasized that after ‘a week of extreme pressure and incredible slander’, Washington only managed to engage 19 governments to the ‘clumsy’ document, in the context of the majority support that Havana gets in the resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

He recalled the 184 votes in favor of uplifting the siege, obtained on June 23 at United Nations General Assembly, where only the United States and Israel defended that policy considered a violation of human rights.

The head of diplomacy emphasized on the social network that the result of the joint declaration against Cuba is very poor and that the US State Department should be ashamed of this discredit.

According to authorities, the Caribbean nation is undergoing an intense campaign of lies, media warfare and encouragement to violence, which had and can have very serious consequences.

This Monday, the Foreign Minister denied the news of alleged popular outbreaks on the island, which were spread through social networks.

‘Cuba is totally calm’, the minister emphasized, adding that it is false that there are riots, as they lie with the complicity of transnationals and digital platforms, which violate their community rules and spread messages of hatred and lies, he added.
