Russia presents at UN a draft agreement on cybersecurity

Moscow, Jul 27 (Prensa Latina) Russia presented at the United Nations a draft agreement to confront the criminal use of information and communication technologies, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office in this country informed on Tuesday.

According to the institution, the proposal ‘takes into account modern challenges and threats in the field of international information security, included the criminal use of cryptocurrencies,’ the communique stated.

The Prosecutor’s Office stressed that Russia is the first country to develop and present to the UN special committee that addresses these issues, a draft universal agreement on the fight against computer crimes.

With the action, Moscow shares its knowledge with the international community, which could serve as a basis of the future comprehensive instrument, the text released by Sputnik news agency stated.
