‘The investigation of the Bolivian justice and other independent investigations that are being jointly presented today in Washington show this,’ Mayta told Prensa Latina at a press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
On Friday, the results of the investigations that refute the presumed fraud in the 2019 Bolivian election, alleged by the opposition and used to justify the coup d’état in that country, will be presented at OAS headquarters.
The foreign minister recalled that, based on this organization’s report, which stated that there was electoral fraud in Bolivia, a judicial process was started when the acting coup government was in power.
He said this investigation is in its final stage and that it showed there was no fraud as indicated in the reports of the OAS electoral mission and the audit mission they sent. Mayta said that independent experts are participating in the presentation, many of whom are American, who reached the same conclusion that in the 2019 election in Bolivia there was no fraud that altered the result of the people’s vote.
