Cuban hotels ready to open to tourism

Havana, nov 11 (Prensa Latina) Around 70 hotels of Islazul and Gran Caribe hotel chains will open on November 15, and until January 1 with 'most hygienic and safe tourism' certification, the ministry of the sector reported today.

Facilities will begin operations after a process of renovation and improvements in their comfort, actions that allowed adding four thousand new rooms, the Ministry specified on Twitter.

Islazul has 60 hotels ready throughout the country in categories like beach, city and nature, designed to please the most varied tastes, all of them backed up by the quality of services and their link to Cuban culture and folklore.

In the case of ‘Gran Caribe’, seven facilities in the capital will start operating: Inglaterra, Vedado, Capri, Nacional, Atlántico, Habana Libre and Presidente hotels, according to chain’s delegate to western provinces of Havana and Mayabeque, Hector Silva Morales.

Cuba is heading towards a controlled and stepped reopening of borders and tourist facilities, which has among security guarantees that more than 90 percent of the population will be already vaccinated by the opening date.

Also, tourism, transport, customs, immigration and aviation workers, along with those of Public Health, were among the first to be vaccinated, and before November 15 they will be given a booster dose.

As a start, the Ministry of Tourism removed the mandatory quarantine of international travelers upon arrival in the country since last November 7 as well as the PCR testing.
