Nicaragua´s decision is a firm response to maneuvers led by Luis Almagro, OAS head, the Cuban Foreign Minister (MINREX) posted on Twitter.

“We support #Nicaragua’s decision to withdraw from OAS, which constitutes a firm and worthy response to Almagro´s maneuvers, in league with the United States, in order to try to meddle in Nicaragua´s decisions,¨ Bruno Rodríguez live-tweeted.

Nicaragua´s Foreign Ministry sent on Friday a letter of complaint to Luis Almagro and announced its decision to definitively withdraw from OAS.

Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada recalled statements condemning OAS´ interventionist actions, including National Assembly, the Supreme Court of Justice and the National Electoral Council.
