On Wednesday, all molecular biology laboratories in Cuba made 23,007 PCR tests in real time to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, totaling 11,002,508 samples so far.

By age group, 45 of the new patients are under 20 years of age, 56 are from 20 to 39 year-old, 81 are from 50 to 59 year-old, and 58 are reported with 60 years and older.

Three of the infected people came from abroad and authorities are working to detect the source of contagion in one patient.

A total of 1,136 active patients remain in hospitals, 1,108 of which are clinically stable, 13 are in seriously ill and 15 are in critical condition.

Some 262 patients were discharged from hospitals, so the number of recoveries rose to 952,206 since 2020, accounting for 99.0 percent.
