The project called “Increasing climatic resilience of rural homes and communities through the rehabilitation of productive landscapes in selected areas of the Republic of Cuba” (IRES), recently held its second workshop.

Beneficiaries from Matanzas (west), Villa Clara (center) and Las Tunas (east) attended the event.

The meeting promoted the gathering of relevant information for featuring the intervention municipalities, identification of differentiated effects for women and men ahead of climate change, as well as the recognition of actions that allow to close inequality gaps.

In addition, participants analyzed the possible environmental risks derived from the IRES implementation such as limited use of herbicides in controlling sicklebush, management of exotic species that can show invasive behavior as well as the possible degradation of soils.
