Oil-drilling rig attacked by Ukraine still on fire

Moscow, Jun 21 (Prensa Latina) The fire in one of the three Russian oil-drilling rigs in the Black Sea attacked by Ukrainian forces spread directly to the well, Crimean Senator Olga Kovitidi reported on Tuesday.

Kovitidi explained that for that reason, one of the ships involved in the search and rescue of people could not approach the platform.

On Monday, Crimean Prime Minister Sergey Aksyonov said that Kiev troops carried out three air strikes on the Chernomorneftegaz oilrigs.

At the time of the attack, 109 people were at the facility, 94 of whom were evacuated, three were injured and seven others are missing, while the search for the remaining persons continue.

These oil-drilling rigs exploit hydrocarbon deposits in the Black Sea shelf, in the waters of the Sea of Azov and in the onshore part of the Crimean peninsula.
