China’s civil aviation industry shows recovery after government help

China-aviación-civil
Beijing, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) China's civil aviation industry is experiencing a growing recovery just one month after the implementation of a government plan that includes the delivery of subsidies to domestic companies, the highest authority of the sector stated on Wednesday.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the performance of airlines substantially improved in June and, for example, from June 24 and 26, the number of flights exceeded 10,000 daily, rebounding to about 60 percent of the figure recorded before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

It also mentioned an improvement in market confidence and predicted a sustained increase because the high summer travel season is near, there are plans to expand international routes and the country has relaxed control and prevention measures against Covid-19, although the borders remain closed.

The civil aviation has been among the most severely hit sectors by the epidemiological battle in China, where the strategy involves massive lockdowns, travel restrictions and strict mobility control measures.

Another one was the accident in March of a China Eastern Airlines aircraft in which 132 people were killed and then the anomaly reported in a Tibet Airlines aircraft that skidded off the runway, caught fire and 36 people were injured.

China is currently in negotiations with several countries with a view to increasing international passenger flights and the authorities stressed the benefit of such action to meet the needs of people-to-people exchanges, the national economy and the sustainable development of the industry.
