Rodríguez Parrilla arrived in Addis Ababa from Uganda on Tuesday, and held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, and with Cuban doctors from the medical brigade working at the San Pablo hospital.

As Lefebre told Prensa Latina, the foreign ministers discussed political and social issues of bilateral interest, in addition to exchanging opinions regarding the possibilities of increasing and diversifying cooperation in various sectors.

“We confirmed the will to strengthen bilateral ties, based on the historic relationship of friendship, solidarity and cooperation,” Rodriguez Parrilla wrote on Twitter.

The exchange with the members of the Cuban medical brigade in Ethiopia “who are distinguished by their commitment to solidarity with the sister nation” was “enriching”, he wrote regarding the meeting he held with Cuban specialists in electromedicine.

“The affection and gratitude of the Ethiopian people are the greatest recognition of the professionalism and daily dedication of our collaborators,” he added.
