60.8% of the outbreaks have been reported in 17 municipalities, as well as in the provinces of Holguín (13.5%), Camagüey (11.8%), Santiago de Cuba (13%) and Havana (16.5%).

Calling on population to reduce dengue transmission by taking comprehensive community actions, Rivera explained that 83% of the mosquito breeding grounds are at homes, especially in household water storage tanks.

Due to present oil situation in the country, there will be no intensive fumigations as provided for in usual protocol, but work will be done to detect possible outbreaks.
