Cuba mourns the death of Shinzo Abe

Havana, Jul 8 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today lamented the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who was shot while giving an electoral speech.

On his Twitter account, the president condemned, on behalf of his people, the attack that caused the death of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party.

“We deeply regret the loss of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and express our condemnation of the cruel attack that caused his death. Heartfelt condolences to the people and government of # Japan, which I extend to family and friends,” he posted on that social network .

According to news reports, Abe collapsed and was taken to a nearby hospital while suffering from cardiopulmonary arrest.

Police arrested the assailant at the scene and are investigating the details of the attack, the Japanese news network NHK said.

Abe was born on September 21, 1954 and died at the age of 67 from a gunshot wound in the city of Nara, in western Japan.
