Venezuela and China ratify willingness to strengthen cooperation

Caracas, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela and China today ratified the will to strengthen exchange links, in a meeting held between President Nicolás Maduro and the director of the Asian country's Foreign Ministry for Latin America, Cai Wei.

The Venezuelan president received the Chinese diplomat at the Miraflores Palace (headquarters of the Executive), in a meeting aimed at deepening bilateral alliances based on the review of the cooperation agenda.

“I received a visit at the Miraflores Palace from Cai Wei, general director of the Department of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Solidarity, cooperation and mutual support of two nations united with a deep brotherhood,” he said. the president on his Twitter social network account.

The meeting stems from an intense work schedule that included dialogues with members of the Venezuela-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, where it was agreed to present the Organic Law of Special Economic Zones to private investors from the Asian country, reported the Presidential Press.

Earlier, the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Faría, held a meeting with the senior official of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, in which the parties ratified the path of brotherhood, solidarity and mutual cooperation.

“Venezuela and China will continue to strengthen their bilateral relations,” Faría stressed on his Twitter social network account, while reiterating his gratitude to Beijing for supporting the South American nation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both countries have established more than 600 cooperation projects in areas of social and economic impact such as health, housing, food, culture, defense, mining, among others.

On repeated occasions, the Venezuelan government reaffirmed its willingness to promote, together with the Asian nation, the consolidation of the Belt and Road Initiative for global development and the construction of a community of shared destiny for humanity.
