Euro back above parity, dollar dips after US inflation surges

Berlin, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) The euro rose to .0250 following announcement of inflation figures in the United States, which will influence the Federal Reserve´s call in coming September.

The European Central Bank, on the other hand, set euro foreign exchange reference rate at $1.0234, while real exchange rate to US dollar was 1.0227 compared to $1.0206 in the last hours.

The band of fluctuation in which euro moved on Tuesday ranged from $1.0188 to $1.0246. Amid unstable global financial situation, the euro backed parity, a situation that happened 20 years ago for the first time, according to currency market operators.
