Dominica reaffirms solidarity with Cuba in face of Matanzas fire

Nassau, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on Tuesday reaffirmed his heartfelt condolences and solidarity with Cuba in face of the deadly fire occurred in the western city of Matanzas.

In a meeting with his Cuban counterpart Manuel Marrero – in the context of the 1st Regional Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM, in Spanish), Mr. Skerrit laid stress on the need to keep on fighting for the US governmet to end its hostile blockade against Cuba.

We´re friends of Cuba and we´re at its service in any aspect we can contribute to, Skerrit stated.

Marrero, on the other hand, expressed his willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations bwteen both nations and also implementing all cooperation agreements.

The Cuban Prime Minister highlighted Cuban people´s firmness and resistance in face of the large-scale dangerous fire that has been affecting the Matanzas oil terminal from August 5 to 12.
