Xi stresses Biden’s urgency to improve China-US ties

Beijing, Nov 14 (Prensa Latina) Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday pointed out to his US counterpart Joe Biden that filing out differences, improving bilateral relations, and putting them on the path of stable and healthy development is imperative.

During their first face-to-face meeting held in Bali, Indonesia, the Asian leader opened his speech with a call to review the almost 50 years of ties, learn from lessons and experiences, and analyze losses, turning them around and move forward into the future.

“History is the best manual. We should look at it as a mirror and let it guide us into the future,” he reflected, referring to the negative atmosphere surrounding Beijing-Washington ties and affecting fundamental interests of both governments.

Xi told Biden that as leaders of the world’s major powers, it is necessary to define how to improve relations and getting along with each other and the rest of the international community, especially in an era of crises, drastic changes, and unprecedented challenges for humanity.

After expressing China’s willingness to exchange with the United States on global and regional issues and work together for the good of all, he insisted in overcoming differences and focusing on contributing to global peace, stability, and development, .

According to reports, Biden also spoke about the two countries’ responsibility to solve tensions and identify areas where they can cooperate.
