Over 950 Sudanese deaths due to violence

Khartoum, Jun 14 (Prensa Latina) Sudanese armed conflict has led to 958 deaths and 4,746 wounded, a civic organization on Wednesday informed. Sudan’s Doctors Union, comprising the sector's guilds, indicated in a document that this situation occurs due to the growing confrontations between the Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The organization linked to the health sector also expressed its concern for the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in El-Geneina City, in the West Dafur region, where violence caused the death of numerous civilians, including women and children.

According to the United Nations, the clashes between the opposing sides also triggered the displacement of over one million inhabitants, while another 250,000 took refuge in neighboring states. The armed clashes broke out on April 15 due to contradictions between the leaderships of the government troops and the RSF, in relation to the integration of the latter into the Army.
