Mexico City, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador clarified on Friday that, in addition to handing over his post as president for 2024 elections, he will also do so with the coordination of the 4th Transformation.

In his morning press conference, while he was answering a question about the successor of the Interior Secretary Adan Augusto Lopez, who will be replaced by Deputy Secretary Alejandro Encinas, Obrador explained that the pre-candidates to Mexican presidency, representing the MORENA party, will receive the coordination of the National Regeneration Movement.

The head of State added that Adan Augusto Lopez will be involved in the coordination of the 4th Transformation. He highlighted that both of them came from that Movement noting that he on his role as Mexico’s president has been recognized as the leader of the transformation in which millions of Mexicans have been participating for many years.

“We are forerunners, we made real the idea of our predecessors to transform Mexico for the fourth time, and I fulfilled this task as one of the millions of citizens. Notwithstanding, I am going to retire. I have one year and three months left, and the transformation must continue because we must finish uprooting the corrupt regime of injustices and privileges. We have to completely become truth the work of change, and that takes time,” Obrador pointed out.

The leader noted that yesterday Adan Augusto Lopez resigned, as he wants to be the next coordinator of such Movement. Already did so Marcelo Ebrard, Senator Ricardo Monreal, and Claudia Sheinbaum since they want to participate in coming elections as well. Lopez Obrador reiterated his confidence in these four officials describing them as the best leaders of the Movement, standing out that they can lead the Mexican ship to a good port.
