Palestine and Russia call for an end to Israel’s escalation

Ramallah, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of Palestine and Russia agreed on the need to end Israel's escalation on the occupied territories, and to resume dialogue, local media reported on Sunday.

According to the Al Quds news websit, Azzam al-Ahmad, a member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the government of the Fatah movement, discussed these issues with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Envoy for the Middle East and Northern Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov.

During the meeting, held in Moscow, both parties advocated for a comprehensive and fair settlement based on international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions on the matter.

The meeting also discussed the issue of Palestinian national unity on the basis of the PLO’s political program.

Bogdanov confirmed his country’s position to help settle the differences between the various Palestinian forces and unify international efforts to support the realization of Palestinian aspirations.
