Bolivian ambassador underscores people and Government’s achievements

Managua, Aug 8 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian Ambassador to Nicaragua Palmiro León Soria Saucedo underscored the people and government's achievements after the defeat of coup leader Jeanine Áñez in the 2020 elections.

At an event on Monday, on the occasion of the 198th anniversary of the declaration of Bolivia’s independence in 1825, the diplomat recalled the inherited political, social and economic disaster.

He stated that his Government had to urgently face the tasks of combating the Covid-19 pandemic and achieving political and economic stability with growth, public investment and industrialization projects, among other actions.

“Such elements have shaped the priority of the Bolivian Executive in the last two years, which can be summarized as the economic and productive reconstruction of the country, with the adoption of austerity measures,” he said.

“We proudly affirm that our economy is reactivated favorably and at firm steps, thanks to the fruit of the hard work of all Bolivians,” the ambassador added.

Soria Saucedo emphasized the social, community and productive economic model, which, together with the implemented measures, made it possible to resume the path of growth with social justice.

He also spoke about the consolidation of the path towards security by guaranteeing food sovereignty and raw materials for industrialization, in addition to the creation of better living and employment conditions.

He stressed that Bolivia became the first lithium reserve in the world, and the Government intends to guarantee an accelerated investment of three billion dollars into the most advanced technology for extracting the mineral over the news few years.

“These are times of commemoration and celebration, but, above all, of commitment to the Bolivian people, to the democratic and cultural revolution, living well, which is our way of deepening democracy, social justice, peace and the search for development and progress”, the Bolivian diplomat stressed.
