The President thanked the welcome and the light show that the Shenzhen Talent Park offered him. “I am sure that China-Venezuela relations will continue on the path of growth and prosperity,” he wrote on social networks.

This is Maduro’s fifth visit to China with the goal of strengthening the strategic alliance with Beijing.

The city of Shenzhen is home to the Huawei and Tencent technology giants, as well as numerous Chinese multinationals.

The Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez arrived in China this week, where she met with Dilma Rousseff, Minister of the New Development Bank of the BRICS, and visited the headquarters of the International Oil and Gas Exchange, located in Shanghai. She also held a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, who assured that both parties maintain an “unbreakable iron relationship” and reiterated China’s support for safeguarding Venezuela’s independence and dignity.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not offer details about the President’s agenda, but according to media outlets such as Xinhua, they will participate in the 17th High-Level Joint Commission between the two countries.

On Friday, the Foreign Ministry expressed its willingness to take the comprehensive strategic partnership with Venezuela to a new level and praised the strength of mutual political trust.
