Russia and Tajikistan in favor of strengthening bilateral ties

Dushambe, Sep 9 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the leader of Tajikistan, Emomali Rakhmon, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic, the press service of the Tajik head of state reported.

In his address, Putin noted that strengthening ties between the two countries is in the interest of their people and contributes to security in Central Asia.

“Relations between Russia and Tajikistan are based on the principles of strategic partnership and alliance,” Putin’s letter states.

He also stated that the fruitful bilateral cooperation in various spheres and the coordination of efforts within the Independent Community of States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are expanding.

“I am convinced that further expansion of the entire complex of bilateral relations fully meets the interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with the consolidation of peace, security and stability in Central Asia,” the message reads.

Putin also noted that Tajikistan is successfully moving along the path of socio-economic development and playing a constructive role in addressing important issues on the regional and international agenda, and wished Rajmon health and success, and well-being and prosperity for the citizens of the Republic.
