President Touadera urges for pressing cooperation

Havana, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) South-South cooperation offers better opportunities for developing countries to face common challenges and advance towards progress, the Central African President Faustin-Archange Touadera said.

Touadera took the floor on the first day at the G77+China Summit, called by Cuba in its capacity as pro tempore president, which will be concluding on Saturday at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC).

Touadera claimed the recent natural disasters in Libya and Morocco prove the pressing need for cooperation to prevent, face and recover from damages caused by these phenomena and other challenges posed by developing countries.

The head of State noted that solidarity is also necessary to provide an effective response to the imperative of technological progress and to counteract the effects of climate change.

In this regard, he urged closer collaboration among the 134 member states of the G77+ China to boost clean energy, connectivity, health and education.
