Bolivia breaks relations with Israel due to crimes against humanity

La Paz, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's Minister of the Presidency, María Nela Prada, confirmed the interruption of diplomatic relations with Israel due to crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

“In the framework of its pro-life principled position, we are sending this official statement to the State of Israel, in which we communicate our decision, as the Plurinational State of Bolivia, to break diplomatic relations with Israel”, she told the media.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Freddy Mamani accompanied Nela Prada in announcing Bolivia’s decisión on the 13th floor of the Casa Grande del Pueblo (government headquarters). Prada announced for his part the sending of humanitarian aid for the population systematically exterminated for 75 years by Israeli governments.

On Monday, President Luis Arce received at the presidential house the ambassador of Palestine, Mahmoud Elalwani, to whom he expressed his solidarity and rejection to the war crimes being committed in the Gaza Strip.

The head of state added that “we cannot remain silent and continue to allow the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly children, who have the right to live in peace”.

Since October 7, Israel has been carrying out disproportionate bombardments against the Palestinian population, an aggression that it has justified on the grounds of rocket fire against its territory and ground incursions by the Hamas movement.

In this context, the Israeli authorities declared a state of war and its North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies, led by the United States, deployed aircraft groups to the area.

As days went by, Israeli troops took control of all the populated areas near the Gaza border, increased their bombardment of civilian targets in Gaza, including hospitals, and maintained a siege that made any humanitarian assistance impossible.

Such attacks have already left a toll of more than 8,000 deaths and thousands of wounded, according to reports from the Palestinian health authorities.

Arce ratified his support to “the international initiatives to guarantee humanitarian aid, in compliance with international law”.
