Cuban resident in Guatemala prepares for Conference in Havana

Guatemala City, Nov 14 (Prensa Latina) Cuban-born doctor and researcher Miguel Garcés is currently preparing to attend the 4th Conference on Nation and Emigration, to be held in Havana on November 18-19.

I feel that we can cooperate a lot with Cuba, the doctor from the Cuban province of Camagüey told Prensa Latina, who considered that the main reason to attend is to give support “in solidarity and commitment,” he added.

The prominent doctor, who lives in Guatemala, described it as significant to “demonstrate the unity of Cuban society and love for our homeland” in the face of renewed attacks by the United States.

Garcés, who left Cuba at the age of 14, stated that this is the moment to fight for Cuba, while he condemned the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

He stressed that the meeting will undoubtedly reveal the emigrants’ stance on priority issues that the Cuban representatives must address.

The 4th Conference on Nation and Emigration, almost 20 years after the last one held in 2004, will continue to promote relations with Cuban residents abroad in protecting Cuba’s sovereignty and development.
