Ukraine fears influence of Putin’s interview in U.S.

Kyiv, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin's interview with journalist Tucker Carlson is dangerous for Ukraine, as it can influence U.S. politicians, the Ukrainian President's advisor Sergey Leschenko said on Monday.

According to Leschenko, “this interview should not be underestimated”, “it will influence the American voter on the need to stop this war by cutting off aid to Ukraine”.

Leschenko also commented that “the new US Administration will do it, will save Americans’ money and save Ukrainians’ lives. Consequently, if such a mood reaches the voter, politicians will be forced to listen.”

Therefore, this interview is too dangerous in the hands of skillful propagandists, Leschenko added.

Leschenko also believes that a dialogue with Putin could help Carlson “pass the casting call” to opt for the role of US Vice President in the future whether Republican Donald Trump wins the presidential election.

“His vice presidential candidacy is the one that sounds the most. Therefore, if he helps Trump to create the necessary public opinion in the United States, this is already the first role he has fulfilled to pass this casting,” the Ukrainian president’s adviser specified.

Putin’s interview with Carlson was published on the evening of February 9. A significant part of the two-hour conversation was devoted to the Ukrainian conflict and Russia’s relations with the United States, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the West in general.
