China condemns U.S. economic coercion against its companies

Beijing, Feb 26 (Prensa Latina) China today described as economic coercion and extraterritoriality the unilateral sanctions of the United States against companies of China for its relationship with Russia.

The Ministry of Commerce stated that Washington’s actions undermine international norms and economic order, while affecting the security and stability of global supply chains.

“China firmly opposes this. We will take necessary measures to resolutely defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises,” the office of the spokesperson of that portfolio added.

In the same sense, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning today also stressed her rejection of these sanctions and added that normal trade-economic cooperation between Beijing and Moscow “is not directed at any third party or subject to any interference by any third party.”

“On the Ukraine conflict, China maintains an objective and impartial position, strives for peace talks, and plays a constructive role for the political settlement of the crisis,” she said.
