Mexican deputies to expand parliamentary meetings with China

Mexico City, Feb 27 (Prensa Latina) Marcela Guerra proposed to her peers in China to resume the parliamentary dialogue between Mexico and China and institutionalize bilateral meetings, the communications department informed today.

In the morning broadcast, the legislative website indicates that the president of the Board of Directors expressed this criteria to representatives of the government of China, in a work meeting, in which she explained that it is in the interest of the Chamber of Deputies to increase parliamentary diplomacy.

The report states that there was a working meeting of the Mexico-People’s Republic of China Friendship Group with the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Hua Chunying, and the parties agreed on the interest of resuming the parliamentary dialogue.

The Mexican side pointed out that China is an example of technological growth and its expansion has not only been based on trade, but also on the functioning of its institutions. Furthermore, in the last 40 years they have lifted more than 700 million people out of poverty.

In turn, Congresswoman Yeidckol Polevnsky, of the Morena party and president of the Mexico-People’s Republic of China Friendship Group, reiterated her commitment to work to strengthen relations between China and Mexico because, although there are enormous challenges, there are also great opportunities.
