Lebanon demands Israeli withdrawal from occupied territories

Beirut, Mar 2 (Prensa Latina) Lebanon's Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib on Saturday demanded the Israeli withdrawal from all occupied territories, while speaking at a session on the establishment of lasting peace in the Middle East.

On the sidelines of his attendance to the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Türkiye, the foreign minister called on Tel Aviv to respect international borders and put an end to the daily violations of Lebanese sovereignty.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s X account, Bou Habib posted: “Lebanon is ready for an indirect negotiation because the other option is the risk of expanding into a regional war”.

In this context, he noted that if the West quits supplying Israel with arms and ammunition, the aggression over Gaza will stop.

At the same time, he tackle the daily Israeli threats to destroy Lebanon, while the country seeks stability; and in this regard, he called on the occupation government to try a different option to the 75-year-long war.

During his stay at the meeting, the minister reiterated the government’s position to stop Israeli hostility, as well as the significance of supporting the Lebanese army and protecting civilians in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law.
