Bolivia prepares to receive Algerian energy experts

La Paz, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales de Bolivia (YPFB) is preparing to receive technicians from the Algerian energy corporation Sonatrach, who will visit the exploration and exploitation areas of the Andean Amazonian country, according to official sources.

Mayra Campos, manager of Technical Administration of Contracts and Evaluation of YPFB, confirmed the visit was agreed by the president of this firm, Armin Dorgathen, and his peer in Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, last Saturday.

Both authorities signed a memorandum of understanding in the context of the visit to the Arab country of the Bolivian president, Luis Arce.

The objective of the understanding is to establish an alliance based on mutual interests and to evaluate possibilities for bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas industry in Algeria and Bolivia.

According to Campos, “the agreement establishes a duration of two years from the signature, (…), in 30 days we will have a first visit of a technical commission from Algeria and we will show them the portfolio of exploratory and exploitation areas that we have in Bolivia”.
