Arevalo committed to attracting investment to Guatemala

Guatemala, Mar 14 (Prensa Latina) Guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo on Thursday reaffirmed his government's commitment to generating the ideal conditions to attract domestic investment and trade.

Speaking at the Conference of Latin American Cities, a forum for debate on regional issues to be addressed immediately from the public and private sectors, the president ensured that there will be prosperity when there is rule of law.

In the event named “Towards Growth with Inclusive Social Development,” the head of State assured that the nation has opportunities to boost economic and social progress.

We seek to improve the quality of life and bolster innovation, Arevalo remarked by detailing the three axes on which his administration is working: laws, infrastructure and health and education coverage.

The 65-year-old politician, the standard bearer of the Seed Movement party, addressed the scourge of corruption, which, he deemed damages trust and undermines the capacity of the Executive to meet goals.

Other participants were Minister of Economy Gabriela Garcia-Quinn; Minister of Finance Jonathan Menkos; Minister of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing Jazmin de la Vega; as well as the Mayor of the capital, Ricardo Quiñones.
