autodisolucion-de-parlamento-croata-1024x576-1
Zagreb, Mar 14 (Prensa Latina) The Sabor (Croatian parliament) announced today its self-dissolution, after a unanimous vote, including the support of the ruling deputies, to make way for early elections next April or May.

We have 143 votes in favor and we made the decision to dissolve the legislature, the president of that body, Gordan Yandrakovic, declared when summarizing the process, according to the capital’s press.

The current law gives the right to the current president Zoran Milanovic to determine the exact date of the general elections, in which the eleventh legislature will be elected. All the procedures of the electoral process must be concluded before the elections for the European Parliament between June 6 and 9, said outgoing Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic.

In the July 2020 elections, the ruling Croatian Democratic Community party (HDZ) won a clear victory, taking control of 66 seats, while the opposition alliance “Reboot”, led by the Social Democrats (SDP), had 41 mandates.
