Cuba recognizes the work of the State Security Organs

da-1
Havana, Mar 26 (Prensa Latina) The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, today recognized the work of the State Security Organs (SSO) and their members, on occasion of the 65th anniversary of their creation.

Through the X platform, the president of the Council of State also stressed that the members of this institution are heroes of silence and deep loyalty to the homeland, who defend the island’s achievements every day with self-sacrificing dedication.

In turn, the Prime Minister of the Republic, Manuel Marrero, highlighted on the same social network that the members of the SSO have been protagonists of multiple glorious actions in defense of the Revolution.

The Foreign Ministry also recognized the creation of the institution and described its members as example of sacrifice and bravery in the tireless struggle to defend Cuba and preserve the integrity of the social project.

The SSO was created on March 26, 1959, less than 12 weeks after the revolutionary triumph, by instructions of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, when the Rebel Army Investigation Department and the Navy Intelligence merged with the similar body of the National Revolutionary Police, which until then were facing counterrevolutionary actions in their respective areas.

From the first moments of its foundation, it responded to a historical need to strengthen the fight against sabotage plans, pirate airplane incursions, first traitor conspiracies and campaigns of lies that began to develop from U.S. territory.

In the current scenarios, the SSOs are renewing their methods of confronting enemy actions with the use of information and communications technologies, in the midst of constant economic and political hostility from Washington, in addition to cultural and fourth generation warfare.
