Brazil generated over 300,000 net formal jobs in February

Brasilia, Mar 27 (Prensa Latina) Brazil registered in February a sharp expansion of its labor market compared to January, creating as many as n306,111 net formal jobs, according to the Ministry of Labor. The figure accounts for 137,608 new more jobs compared to January´s, when 168,503 vacancies were generated.

February’s job opening result is the outcome of difference between 2.24 million people hired and 1.94 million people laid off nationwide.

With numbers registered in January and February, Brazil accrues nearly half a million new formal job openings and reaches a total of 474,614 jobs generated.

In relation to the total number of employees in the country, Brazil reported 45.99 million formal jobs in February, a 1.04% growth in relation to February 2023.

Indicators were positive in the five major groups of economic activities: services, industry, commerce, agriculture and livestock and construction.
