Pyongyang, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Senior officials of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) agreed in Hanoi to strengthen cooperation relations between the two countries, state news agency KCNA reported today.

Kim Song Nam, director of the WPK’s International Department, met on Tuesday in the Vietnamese capital with Truong Thi Mai, member of the Political Bureau and head of the VCP Central Committee’s Organization Commission, the news agency said.

The two sides had cordial talks and exchanged messages of greetings between the general secretaries of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Communist Party of Vietnam, Kim Jong Un and Nguyen Phu Trong, respectively.

Kim Song Nam said that the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, cultivated by the previous leaders of the two countries and consolidated during the struggles against imperialism, are developing under the deep attention of Kim and Phu Trong in the common cause of socialist construction.

Truong Thi Mai noted that the Vietnamese people are grateful for Pyongyang’s support for the struggle for national liberation and reunification of the country and wished the DPRK greater economic and social successes.
