Cuba supports the independence cause of the Saharawi people

Algiers, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) The Saharawi News Agency (SPS) in a letter released here thanked the Cuban government and the Latin American news agency Prensa Latina for their support to the just struggle of the Saharawi people for independence.

In his message the director of the SPS, Saleh Nafee Abeid, valued that this is a support that the Cuban Revolution has maintained firm with all the peoples who fight for their freedom.

He also thanked the emotional greeting letter sent by Luis Enrique González, President of Prensa Latina, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of SPS.

On March 29, Gonzalez, on behalf of his group, expressed the will to continue consolidating the working ties and cooperation with SPS, on the occasion of the 25th birthday of that media.

Through a letter, he sent congratulations to the SPS and emphasized that both agencies have always been on the same path.

The SPS celebrates this Friday 25 years “with the honorable and necessary mission of spreading to the world the just cause of its people, with commitment and responsibility, with credibility and professionalism, responding to the will of the people and the struggle for independence”, the director of Prensa Latina said.

In another part of the document, Abeid expressed, on behalf of his collective and the people of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, the firm condemnation of the prolonged, unjust and immoral blockade imposed against the “brotherly and heroic Cuban people” by the United States government, a mechanism in force for more than 60 years.
