Cuba commemorates creation of the Eastern Army

Havana, Apr 21 (Prensa Latina) The secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales, on Sunday congratulated the members of the Eastern Army on the 63rd anniversary of that military corps.

On his X account, Morales urged the members of the Eastern Army to continue “to always be creditors of the confidence of the people and its founder, Raúl.”

The first secretary of the Young Communist League (UJC), Mebys Estévez, noted that being faithful to the homeland, the revolution and socialism is and will always be the biggest commitment.

The Eastern Army was founded on April 21, 1961, and its first chief was then Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Raúl Castro.
