DPRK leader’s visit five years ago remembered in Russia

Pyongyang, Apr 30 (Prensa Latina) The visit to Russia five years ago of the general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Un, marked a milestone in bilateral relations, the participants said in a seminar on that event in Moscow.

As reported here by the state news agency ACNC, the participants recalled the meeting between the head of the State Affairs Committee and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok.

The seminar was attended by leaders of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party, the Korean War Veterans Council, the Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, and the International Solidarity Group with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The concluding statement of the gathering reminded the enormous contributions made to the relations between the two nations by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, and sent greetings to Kim Jong Un expressing hope for the development of bilateral strategic cooperation.

A few days ago in Vladivostok, young people from the two countries held a meeting commemorating the fifth anniversary of the visit of the DPRK’s top leader.

He returned to Russia in September last year, when he held official and private talks with Putin in an atmosphere that, according to political circles and the press of the two nations, evidenced the good chemistry between them.
