Havana, May 16 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Bruno Rodriguez, today thanked the efforts of U.S. congressmen who have urged President Joe Biden to remove Cuba from the unilateral list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.

In his X account, the Cuban foreign minister stressed that the presence of Cuba on that spurious list is one more way to maintain the criminal punishment against the Cuban people.

The day before Rodriguez informed through the platform that the US admitted that Cuba fully cooperates with the efforts against terrorism; referring to the decision of the chief of US diplomacy, Antony Blinken, who eliminated Cuba from an arbitrary list of countries that, according to the US government “do not fully cooperate” in the fight against terrorism on May 15.

“The department determined that the circumstances for Cuba’s certification as a ‘full non-cooperating country’ have changed from 2022 to 2023,” stated an unidentified official, who cited the resumption of bilateral police cooperation as one of the reasons why the previous designation “was no longer appropriate.”
