Suspects of threatening minister’s sons arrested in Brazil

Brasilia, May 31 (Prensa Latina) The Federal Police (PF) of Brazil on Friday arrested two people in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro who were suspected of threatening the three children of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), to death.

The R7 website assures that the police operation was carried out after a request from the Attorney General’s Office.

Crimes under investigation are those of threat and persecution.

According to the investigations, the coercion was made by e-mail.

For at least a week, De Moraes’ children received those messages.

In the texts, the suspects tried to intimidate them by giving details about the routine of the minister and his descendants.

The PF reported that, in addition to arresting those involved in the case, it served five search and seizure warrants in Sao Paulo and Rio.

According to the law enforcement agency, the objective of the operation was to ‘complement the evidence regarding violent threats suffered by relatives’ of De Moraes.

The Navy followed the action because one of the suspects is a member of the institution.

Both suspects are being held in the PF superintendencies in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro until Justice determines where they will be taken.

The STF security was activated and helped the PF Intelligence Directorate to investigate and identify the suspects.
