The announcement came after a meeting between the Director General of the Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), Lelise Neme, and the Russian ambassador, Evgeny Terekhin, on key environmental protection issues.

Other areas of collaboration agreed upon are the exchange of experiences, solid waste management, ecosystem conservation, and technology transfer.

Both parties emphasized the importance of establishing links between the EPA, the corresponding public institutions, private sector actors, and research centers to deepen practical cooperation based on evidence.

The meeting underlined the commitment of both nations to promote sustainable environmental solutions through partnership and innovation.
