The union called for mobilization in response to the Ministry of Education’s lack of response to urgent issues related to what they call a “short agenda.”
Among the demands are tenure for contracted teachers, access to career opportunities, a reduction in administrative tasks that burden teachers, and an end to classroom violence, among others.
“This is a preventive measure because we feel that this agenda has not received the necessary urgency or speed,” said Mario Aguilar, president of the union.
Demonstrations will be held in all 16 regions of the country, from Arica to Magallanes.
